This is an original antique map from an A & C Black atlas published c. 1859, not a reproduction or modern copy. It is printed on nice thick paper and the colours have been well preserved. The level of detail on this map is very high and it shows the railways, roads traversed by Mails or stage coaches all the year round and coaches in connection with railways, roads traversed by stage coaches or Mail Phaetons all year round but only on certain days of the week, roads traversed by stage coaches during summer months only, roads suitable for carriages, footpaths and steamer routes. It also has an inset map of the Shetland Isles.

Condition: This map has a large tear along the central fold that should be invisible when framed and some slight markings and foxing commensurate with age. Otherwise condition is very good.
Measurements of the map are approximately 17.5 x 25.5 inches including the white surrounding border. The reverse side is blank.
This map will be shipped securely in a plastic sleeve and sturdy cardboard mailing tube.
